We have over twenty years experience of fitting fireplaces in customers homes. We do not sub-contract the fitting of the fireplaces – the people who make the fires are the same team who fit them.

FAQs

How much will the fitting cost?

We can't give you an exact cost until we have visited your home and been able to assess the work involved, but most fireplaces can be fitted in one day (by two people) and this would cost £350 plus VAT.

How long will I have to wait for my fireplace?

We fill our diaries on a first come first served basis and most times of the year customers wait about 10 weeks from placing the order to the date of fitting.

Are you happy to supply fires for someone else to fit?

Yes. As long as the person fitting the fire does so safely we can supply surrounds, inserts and hearths for you to fit. Depending on how busy we are we can usually do this in about two weeks.

Do you fit fireplaces outside the Bristol and Bath areas?

We can usually arrange to fit in most areas but if you live a long way from our workshop the fitting cost will include travelling time.

When do I have to pay?

When the work is complete we will invoice you – there is no need for a deposit. Payment should be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
If we are not carrying out the fitting of fire we ask for payment when you collect your fire.

Will you fit a fire or stove I have bought elsewhere?

In order to provide advice and a full guarantee we prefer to supply the stove and all the fittings we install. However we can sometimes fit your own stove – please phone us to discuss.

Do you deliver fireplaces you aren't fitting.

We would usually expect you to collect surrounds, hearths and fires. If this isn't possible we can deliver to your home for a small charge.

Do you take credit/debit cards?

No. In order to keep our costs down we ask you to pay by cheque (or cash).

Do I have to clear the room?

We work as tidily as possible but the room needs to be clear of day to day effects, and delicate items covered up.

Will you cut the carpet around the hearth?

No. This is a specialist job and needs to be done by a carpet fitter.

Do I need to get the chimney swept?

Yes. Its always best to sweep the chimney before the fitting. (In some cases the chimney is bricked up and so its not possible to sweep before we fit and in these cases we suggest getting the sweep in as soon as possible after the fitting). We have the telephone number of a Bristol sweep.

What is HETAS?

HETAS is the monitoring body for all solid fuel fires. They monitor to ensure that all fires are fitted safely and comply with Building Control. To find out more: www.hetas.co.uk

Will I have to redecorate the room?

We usually have to cut into the plaster work to fit the fireplace. We will plaster around the fire but you will need to re-paper or paint the chimney breast.

Will you take away all the rubble etc from the old fireplace?

Yes. Our quote includes removal of all unwanted materials.
