Will you take away all the rubble etc from the old fireplace?

Yes. Our quote includes removal of all unwanted materials.

Will you fit a fire or stove I have bought elsewhere?

In order to provide advice and a full guarantee we only fit products that we have supplied or that we have restored.

Will you cut the carpet around the hearth?

No. This is a specialist job and needs to be done by a carpet fitter.

Will I have to redecorate the room?

We usually have to cut into the plaster work to fit the fireplace. We will plaster around the fire but you will need to re-paper or paint the chimney breast.

When do I have to pay?

When the work is complete we will invoice you – there is no need for a deposit. Payment should be made within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
If we are not carrying out the fitting of fire we ask for payment when you collect your fire.

What is HETAS?

HETAS is the monitoring body for all solid fuel fires. They monitor to ensure that all fires are fitted safely and comply with Building Control. To find out more:

How much will the fitting cost?

We can't give you an exact cost until we have visited your home and been able to assess the work involved, but most fireplaces can be fitted in one day, by two people and this includes re-plastering, materials & waste removal etc, but plus VAT. Stoves usually take longer, two days or so, depending on how much preparation we need to do.

How long will I have to wait for my fireplace?

We fill our diaries on a first come first served basis, most times of the year customers wait about 7 to10 weeks from placing the order to the date of fitting but this does vary based on the complexity of the job.

Do you take credit/debit cards?

No. In order to keep our costs down we ask you to pay by cheque or bank transfer.

Do you fit fireplaces outside the Bristol and Bath areas?

We have worked as far away as Cornwall, Wales, the Midlands & London but obviously the fitting cost will have to include travelling time. Phone to discuss your requirements.

Do you deliver fireplaces you aren't fitting?

We would usually expect you to collect surrounds, hearths and fires. If this isn't possible we can deliver to your home for a small charge.

Do I need to get the chimney swept?

Yes. Its always best to sweep the chimney before the fitting to check that the flue is clear and usable. If your chimney is bricked up we can knock out a small hole for the sweep to access. We have the telephone number of a Bristol sweep and are happy to supply this on request.

Do I have to clear the room?

We work as tidily as possible and we bring dust sheets, but the room does need to be clear of day to day effects and delicate items removed or covered up.

Are you happy to supply fires for someone else to fit?

Yes. As long as the person fitting the fire does so safely we can supply surrounds, inserts and hearths for you to fit. Depending on how busy we are we can usually do this in about two weeks.
